Expectations and Procedures

Below you can find the specifics on expectations and procedures in my room. To sum it up in a few words would be...

     RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY
____________________________________

Be Respectful (people and property)

·         No talking, no touching, no teasing.

·         Listen to others when speaking. Please raise your hand if you have something to share.

Be On Time

    • This means being seated quietly in your seat when the bell rings
    • Tardiness- leave passport at the front for me to sign.  If you are tardy 3 times = 15 min. detention. Your 4th= 30 min. 5th = 45 min. 6 = Saturday school
    • Absences/make-up work- You have the number of days absent plus one, to make up the work missed.  You are responsible for getting your assignments.  Check the file on my desk for missed work with your name on it. Please take note that we may have done something in class that I did not hand out, so you still need to get the class assignments from a peer or ask me. There will be advanced notice for tests, you will need to take them the day you return, NO EXCEPTIONS

Be Responsible

    • Bring your materials to class everyday! I will not allow you to constantly leave the classroom with or without a passport.

-          Employers expect you to come prepared everyday

    • Pay attention, know what needs to be done, complete your assignments on time
    • Turn in assignments to the basket up front unless instructed otherwise

No swearing and inappropriate communication.

    • We are at school, use appropriate language.

Late Work (for majority of classes)

    • ½ credit given to correct answers
    • Assignment will get graded when teacher has an opportunity to check late work.
    • Late work over 1 day late will NOT be allowed. Again, this goes back to responsibility.

Beverages and Food

    • Absolutely no pop, juice or food allowed in class
    • Gum, water and Gatorade are privileges and may be taken away if not used responsibly. If you have water or Gatorade it must be kept in the classroom portion of the lab on the book shelf. Also, know when it is appropriate to get up to get your dink and when it is not.

No backpacks or purses

    • Do not even bring them down to this floor. This includes setting them inside OR outside the classroom door
    • If your backpack is down here, you will need to return it to your locker and if you are late returning to class, you will be counted tardy.

Other bits and bytes

    • Dismissal

-          DO NOT wait by the door PLEASE, if there is an emergency people need to be able to get in and out
-You may dismiss yourself when the bell rings from your seat.

1.      Seating area needs to be picked up. This includes loose papers, scraps, and any supplies

2.      Chairs need to be pushed in.

    • There are NO GAMES allowed to be playing on the computers off of the internet.
    • It is important to problem solve yourself as much as possible. Re-read any direction, ask student next to you at appropriate time, and if still not sure ask teacher
    • Please do not touch monitor screens or turn off monitors unless directed to.
    • USB Port covers are very breakable. You will replace the entire server if you break one. $100+
    • Never download or install something on your computer with out permission. This includes fonts, programs, printers, etc…
    • You may not use anyone else’s user account. This is a security violation not only in the business lab, but within the entire district. Computer use is a PRIVLEDGE.
    • DO NOT CHANGE YOUR BACKGROUND, SCREEN SAVERS, MOUSE POINTERS, or any other settings.  You will lose privileges to use computers not only in here, but within the entire school.
    • Need to do a print preview before printing anything. Too much paper is wasted.
    • Ask to check your email. It is usually not a problem as long as you ask.
    • My desk area and all cabinets are off limits. If you need something please ask.
